The commentary on Wed night was so pro Coventry

Don Goodman must have some loose affiliation with the city of Coventry, having been based in the West Midlands as a player for Wolves and West Brom.

I saw one of his quoutes posted on here the morning after the game:

"I am not of a Middlesbrough persuasion"

Hell Don, don't even try and appear neutral you Leeds supporting twit.

He wasn't saying "I hate Boro!" though. He was simply stating his view on a decision that went against us might be different if he was a Boro fan.
Where I did disagree with him was his view that the fouls by Coventry players didn't merit bookings. What he didn't seem to see was it wasn't just the severity of each individual challenge, but the fact that there had been several fouls by the same players which might warrant a booking.
But I didn't think he was biased, he was pretty complimentary of us as a team, and individual players. Coventry were the better team on the night, he couldn't ignore that.

They annoyed me with Every foul was a free kick not a booking, even when chuba was floored and almost off injured. Boro fans wete quiet but coventry fans were sooo loud, every coventry block or tackle to stop an attack was 'jus brilliant'...coventry did brilliant to rise from bottom to where they are now (what about us?), coventry play attractive football apparently (not what i saw, just put men behind the ball and lumped it to gyokeres) fouling and time wasting all the way.

Appreciate the context. I only saw his stand alone quote, backed up by a few people who were upset with Goodman's apparent bias.

I watched it on some dodgy stream with Maddo and Drury commentary, occasionally we get other teams commentary, and generally but not allways they are very biased, ours isnt. Maddo and Drury want Boro to win but they don't ignore how good another team is and remark on their standout play and players. I think generally Teessiders are very fair with a few dicks unfortunately thrown in.

When is it any different ? if they haven't a reason to knock the Club ('cos we're winning), some resort to knocking the area. That rissole Lineker even knocks our area and tries to "trap" Shearer into backing him, Shearer is too smart to fall for his snide, smart ass remarks though and usually retorts with "you said it not me".

He`s a canny lad that Shearer lyke

But not as "canny" as our Michael

Yes, Wolves fans and players and West Brom fans and players are known to love Coventry.
It’s like our love fest with Sunderland.

I don't usually buy into this kind of thing but watched it with the daughter and son in law. Early on the son in law was mentioning it and I was still too busy watching the match to notice. But as the match wore on it became more obvious and started to **** me off as well. Even other family members mentioned it straight after the match. Didn't affect the result or the performance of either team though and that's what counted.

It was pretty obvious wasn't it!
Even my wife who only watched it because of me said she she felt that they were willing Coventry to get through especially Goodman.
My missus hates football. She watched it with the kids and the first thing she said to me was the commentators only talked about Coventry. It was like they wanted them to win.
Felt it was a bit like that in the first leg.
