Since 2010/11, the team finishing seventh in the Championship (just missing the playoffs) has always finished the following season in the bottom half of the table. Anyone think we can break the curse this year?

I think a playoff place would be a good recovery. Leeds, Wolves and Forest now in the Premier League..

Yes and Boro have done it twice before. Missing out on the playoffs must leave clubs on a real downer.

Maybe the EFL will give us a 1 penalty for daring to buck the trend and not informing them first via fax . Boro 4th, after EFL penalty = 14th

He was crazy to go there as he’s on a hiding to nothing. Like my geordie mate said about Steve Bruce when he signed for them. - no matter what he does or what success he has, he’s always going to be one bad result from being back to fat useless Mackem.
