Such a great young band .... and particularly Steve Ellis. I think I have both this and the Robert Knight original on 7 inch from back in the day. Whopper of a song. Made my night.

My favourite Beautiful South song was on TOTP 1995 tonight. Think I was still getting over my Dad's passing away - as I can't remember seeing this performance

I apologise if I'm wrong but do I read that as your father is sadly no longer with us?
If so, I feel your sadness... my love of 60s music comes from my Dad who passed in 2020. Bittersweet at times with the music, and by God do I miss him, but it's all good memories.
Time for the wooden hill...

He passed many moons ago WeeGord, and now it is rare I get that emotional wash that stops me in my tracks - but like you it is a bittersweet but I think welcome experience. Sorry for your loss too.

Thank you. It's thosenrare moments where a song comes on and you're back years ago, reliving memories. It's heartbreaking and yet it's beautiful too. Those brief seconds you forget.
