The Libertines to play Redcar Beach

Will be interesting to see if they'll go with local bands as support, or more established bands.

I bet Benefits get asked. Pete's a big fan.

I saw them about twenty times back in the day. Cherry Jam, Rhythm Factory, Cockpit etc. Saw Babyshambles several times too including their first ever gig at The Troubadour.

However, this leaves me cold. For me, The Libertines were about a time and a place. It doesn’t make sense to me seeing them in my/their forties.

They're releasing a new album next year, so I'd imagine this gig will coincide with the promotional tour.

I understand where you're coming from however you've got to remember there will be a new generation of Libs fans who won't have had the opportunity to see them live.

I saw them in 2017 at the Scarborough Spa and they were brilliant. They've still got it, however the Scarborough Spa is a fairly small venue, which might have been why it felt like such a good gig.

Up to you but just sometimes seeing a band can take you back to those special times.
