The "Official" unofficial - Middlesbrough v "Aye Up Lad" Barnsley Match Thread.

I've never seen a team that pushes out so quickly and so far, they are at the halfway line as soon as they have cleared. We need to get runners from midfield and play over the top. But when your midfield consists of Howson and Saville that is rather unlikely.
I think Saville does well to get forward. The problem is having enough composure to actually get the ball to them.

We just need somebody to take command of the game, unfortunately we have nobody of that ilk in our squad

Bolassie is the man surely?

I'm not watching it so I don't know exactly what the guy's doing but unless the whole of his foot is over the whole of the line and his entire foot is on the field, that's legal.
yes, the law does state that you must have " part of each foot either on the touch line or on the ground outside the touch line", but he looked to have at least one foot completely over at the end of his long run up when he released the ball.

Not sure the officials know the rules , drop-ball contested ,Stroud should know the rules

Ok i thought the foot could touch the line but not cross it
Both feet have to be either behind or touching the line. If just one is completely over then it is a foul throw. I thought he was clearly over.

I qualified as a ref so I could referee more effectively when coaching kids football. and the most annoying thing it did was show me how many things get ignored in the professional game! (6 seconds for the keeper? Throw in from where it shoudl be? 10 yards for a free kick? No dissent?? etc etc.)
