The phone of the near future?

It has improved and become viable. That my point.

I've already explained to you that two phones now are exactly what you would need in a foldable phone, A lot of people won't be them, sadly, until apple steals the technology in years time.

As a fan of modern technology I find that a crying shame that companies just can't innovate in this space.
Sorry, I donā€™t understand your second paragraph. I missed when you explained that, did you? Have you bought one?

I said it in my second post. Folding phones are perfectly usable now. Sadly won't be mainstream until apple stall the technology. I find it sad. All that research and development ignored because people like you care more about the logo than the product

Nothing sadder than people bashing phone brands or console wars imo. Such weird things to get obsessed over. Just use the phone you like.

ā€œPeople like youā€? You need to calm down and go over what Iā€™ve actually said.
Have you bought one?

Aplle fanbois.

Don't get me wrong I can see the merits of an iphone. It just makes me sad that other companies can come up with great innovations and they don't get the credit they deserve because they have the wrong logo on it. I don't understand how people become "fans" of a profit driven consumer electronics firm

Canā€™t roll my eyes any harder at the cringe here.

I wasn't initially taken by that phone, as the industry has evolved towards less moving parts, and this mechanical concept doesn't seem to be the way forward.

The technology behind the screen itself will be used everywhere at some point (eg. curved adveristing boards etc) but the mechanics of the phone just don't seem to tick boxes.

However, when I saw how it works so well with videos, I became more interested. The way it could resize to specific ratios (eg. 4:3, 16:9) is great.

I'm not sure if I'd really require a phone-to-phablet device. Is this something that would take off? I'm not sure.

Myself, the option of a mini-tablet that transformed to a full-size tablet would be a much more appealing. I like the idea of having an ipad mini sized device (which is a great size for most uses) that could expand to the size of a full ipad for videos, and at a specific ratio.

The clincher is the screen quality, it would have to be full HDR10+, AMOLED etc, or I'd still prefer a standalone larger tablet.
