The rain in southern Spain

I recall from my time living down in San Pedro that when it rains, it really effin rains.
Flash floods, the lot.
And loads of traffic accidents because of greasy roads and people who can't drive in the wet.

Very true. They do panic a bit when there is a bit of the strange wet stuff.

Makes me laugh when events get cancelled days before because there is the possibility of rain.

We went to a free concert (Cure & Depeche Mode tribute band) last Saturday which was in a marquee built in a bull ring. Hardly anyone turned up because it rained a bit. And it was perfectly dry inside.

I guess its a different mindset.

I used to live near Javea on the Costa Blanca and we used to get the gotta fria (big drop) for about a week . It poured down each year usually in about October and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees.

That sounds like a very different niche event..would have loved a bit of that....any photos of the acts ?

No photos I'm afraid. It was good. They were called The Exploding Boys. They had one singer for the first hour (Cure) and than a different one for the second hour (Depeche Mode). I'll definitely see them again when they are in our area.

It made me think how good a real Depeche Mode concert would be

Yes. I can second that. It is very unusual to get light drizzle where I live. They have improved our drains in the street a lot now. So we get a lot less flash floods now. Thanks goodness.

I had to go to a bigger town about 15 minutes drive away earlier this afternoon. It was like driving through rivers at times.
