The royal ‘firm’ is collapsing.

Never been a royalist but proud to be from England .... elitism and the establishment are a burden we normal folk tolerate reluctantly ... Nothing against William and Harry as people but the job they have / had and the financial trappings it rakes in wrangles with me

This country allows the past to rule the present and future. Monarchy is outdated, parliament belongs in a bygone ere, the voting system doesn't reflect voting and the system of private education ensures those with money remain in privileged positions.

Nothing will change of course and leaving the EU is all about keeping that system in place and strengthen it over time.

I'm please you are proud to be from England. I wish I felt the same. I used to be proud but over the last few years I have grown increasingly ashamed. If anyone asked me where I am from I tell them Yorkshire, at least the Tories and Johnson hasn't tarnished the name of our great county yet, although if Sunak gets the PM's job there is time for that yet.

saying that I like in Thailand now ....

This is my understanding of what makes a good monarch in majority of royalists eyes. Never say anything controversial, just keep your dignity..

That is fine and QE2 (or 1 in Scotland?) Is brilliant at it. Why though are they involved in our democracy?

I am all for a figurehead promoting lots of good things about UK but don't have them as an ineffective tier of government.
agreed, and if so, then maybe they should be voted in for a fixed term, so that any controversies are wiped away when they cease to hold the position and a new person comes in. I'd have no problem with King Brian Cox for 5 years followed by Queen Deborah Meaden, then King Jarvis Cocker

Only if it's not FPTP.
