Just sat and watched this again to pass an hour on Xmas eve and boy does it make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
One word is often used and that word - unique, pretty much sums up everything about that time.
I look back with fondness obviously but also feel blessed to have followed the club through that period and beyond.

Tremendous watch - thanks for posting it. Brings back some great memories. That game against Wigan had to be one of the best goalless draws I have seen!
 
thanks for that, just watched it now. loved that era, footballers were like proper people then. remember the boro game at our place very well that season. who was the previous chairman that gibson slagged off?
 
Was it Charlie Amer? He was the one who wasted money on a sports hall building, but he left well before 1986. Maybe Alf Duffield.
