The stadium that bankrupted a football club

Build it and they will come ... didn't quite work out that way

Had darlo managed to reach the championship they may have got close to 10k crowds with a large away following (and probably police bill to match)

Came across this video the other day, found it to be a good watch.

Always had a soft spot for Darlo, such a shame that one man could essentially kill a football club.

Happened to Bury FC. Steve Dale absolutely destroyed them and the FA/EFL should take a lot of responsibility for their demise. Not fit to be an owner.

Yeah, I remember he had that many companies declared bankrupt you wouldn’t trust him to own a burger van, and yet he passed the test to own a football club.

FFP has helped with this to an extent but you still get owners who are prepared to bend the rules.

It's just a shame there isn't more owners like Gibson who are prepared to take on the rule breakers.

It got the club some money I think? More importantly it shows others that we are keeping on eye out for financial doping and will take action, that can't be a bad thing.
OK I didn't realise the club received compensation with the Derby affair, All the same I don't agree with the pricing these days there is no value for the money he is asking I could understand it in the Ravenelli / Juninho days with high wages and class football but not now

Boro estimate that a club needs to pay out £21/22m per year on players wage bill to compete in top six.
Every year they analyse all the competitors and so arrive at this figure from stringent research.
