The lack of a proper defensive midfield player has really exposed us tonight. We need a Boateng type who can track the runners and fill in the gaps. All their goals have come from their midfield making runs into our box. Gallagher has just run through the centre of our defence from the half way line!

We’ve needed that player since he left.
 
We really need to stop this kamikaze playing out from the back .. it was obvious in the first leg that we were the root of all our own problems and this game we've continued on with it .. The goals we've conceded this season and last because of it you'd think we'd learn the lesson
 
Chelsea still letting in scruffs with signs begging for players' shirts, I see. I thought some clubs had started to stamp it out now, but maybe I'd imagined that.
 
Thought Howson looked good at times tonight, not out of his depth and Rogers has also put a shift in and looked comfortable. Djiksteel has looked ok since he come on. Apart from that - bad day at the office

Not really comparable realities is it? They're a team that's probably paid more to agents than our entire club is worth and had a nice week off to prepare.

We are clearly knackered as a team trying to power through a injury crisis. We needed lightning to strike twice, it hasn't happened.

I feel like this is a role that feels less and less prominent in the game as a whole tbh, players just play like they f*cking hate football and love just wrecking an attack. Joao Palhinha feels like a throwback in that and he's f*cking class, but I don't even really see that type of player even at our level anymore really.

There’s players who haven’t broken sweat, should they be lauded, if players are giving their all ,fair enough but some of our team have clearly gone missing .
