* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Coventry Match-Day Thread *

Feels like Carricks daydreams of unicorns and angels have taken a bash.
Needs to get his head out of the clouds.....this is the boro, this is reality

Didn't think we'd see us looking like that under Carrick, I can forgive the defensive frailties when we're scoring goals but we aren't even creating chances at the moment much less scoring goals. Honestly can't think of a decent chance we've created in 1 and a half league games so far.

The longer carrick continues playing a woefully out of his depth Roger’s up front the more I question whether he just stumbled on a good formation and akpom in the form of his life, it looks like we have done nothing at all in preseason as the team looks like it’s just met each other and appears unfit following a massively lacklustre end to our season.

No one can ignore the fact surely that we are in big big trouble here. New signings look like very substantial downgrades so far, nothing inspiring coming through the door. Big trouble

Silvera has given the ball away far to much, but we've actually been a little better in the last 5 mins or so.

Small plus point is we've looked assured playing out from the back - Dieng is excellent in this respect.

But we need to be more patient in the final third, we're trying to force things too much and it just ends up with possession being conceded.
He has given it away yes but at least he's been direct and looks slightly threatening. More so than any of the other front 4.

If he could change 7 of the first 11. I would. Silvera just made the cut

No fluidity or threat from any of the front four. Unless that changes, we’re gonna lose in a whimper.

Absolute garbage so far, this. I don't know what's happened to us, and it's not just that we've lost players cause this was happening at the end of last season when we still had those players.

Erm, I'm not even sure where I would start to change that.

I cannot think of a worse half of football I've seen from us?

Maybe get an extra man into midfield and try to get back into the game? Howson for Jones or silvera?

Wing backs were key to our tactics but eve got paddy and zhayden there that are useless. Then we have crooks in number 10 who's miles from Rodgers who's isolated. Trash performance

It's about percentages though, knowing when to recycle and start again v taking on an attacking action that is likely to concede possession.

He needs to learn when to do both because on this evidence he's very naive.
