* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Hull [04/24] Match-Day Thread *

We are so rubbish down the left. Engel: constantly loses his man, multiple passes astray. Greenwood: wants too may touches, runs into trouble. It's too easy to pressurise us and get joy from that area. Granted our goal came from there and theirs didn't but that is our weak spot in general.

There's no legislating for a suicide pass like that from Dieng, it's true, but to be fair his save a few minutes before was outstanding. Hull are superior. They have a lot of clever forward players, move it quickly and are well-organised. We haven't really threatened and you can't see anyone on the bench who'll change it. Hope I'm wrong.
The problem is philogene against ayling they haven't created anything down our left.

And we got our goal from the left. Poor summary

Engel has statistically been out best player tonight. I have already listed his contributions.

How has he been at fault for either of the goals we conceded? He hasn't. Blaming engel tonight is ridiculous. He has not done much wrong and done a lot of good stuff.
I wasn’t blaming Engel, I was suggesting changing the system. Engel’s a poor full back imho, but a decent wing back, but then I should watch basketball according to you!

And there we were only 4 points behind Norwich, and then whoops Boro decided not to bother.
Never mind eh, there’s always next season.

We are seeing our short comings this game. The left hand side with Greenwood and Engel is atrocious. And the midfield is non existent

Garbage - Engel set the goal up and made some good crosses. The faults do not lay with Engel! Try telling me what Jones did in the first half? Agree Greenwood not great and Azaz missing but just chucking in the Engel is crap nonsense is poor

I don't mind the passing out from the back. There's a reason for it and it has a benefit but when it goes wrong it's a major issue. There are other bigger issues with the way we have played. Hull look miles better than us.
