* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Southampton Match-Day Thread "

I don’t think we’ve looked that bad between the boxes to be honest. A bit sloppy on occasion, but we lack any quality in the final third which means we are prone to be exposed elsewhere because we have no outlets up top to relieve the pressure elsewhere

Centre half playing right back. Centre mid playing left back. Not sure what Crooks is but definitely not a #10. Centre forward is young lad who played in League 1 last season.

Meanwhile on the bench 7 of the 9 are new signings who aren't deemed good enough to get into a team that have 2 points and are dead bottom. That includes a newly signed LB, £5m striker and 3 attacking midfielders. Gilbert doesn't even make the squad.

We are an absolute shambles. Badly organised on and off the pitch. Carrick is partly to blame but this goes far, far deeper.

We are going to be relegated 😞

We need midfield runners off Coburn’s flicks and somebody to see Coburn’s runs. Stick Lathe number 10. Crooks is too slow.

Coburn’s leading the line well. Unfortunately we keep shooting ourselves in the foot with our poor ball retention and decision making.

Soton are making plenty of mistakes, but we don't have the quality to capitalise. Nor can we ever seem to get a fortuitous bounce of the ball in the opposition's box.

I like Crooks but he’s having a mare today. As suggested earlier get Latte Lath on for him and go for it.

(Hat trick for Crooks coming up!)

Lots of positives.

Mcgree, Jones and Hackney all playing well. VDB and O'Brien have filled in well at full backs.

Yeah some of our touches have been poor, Hackney in particular has been careless on the ball at times
