We need to improve the squad.... but if the tactic and training doesn't incorporate some simple basics of how to defend as a team it won't make any difference. It's not all about recruitment if your tactic has an obvious weakness defensively it won't matter how many players you sign.

Its obvious the seasons been written off by gibson and carrick has been given **** all to spend. Carrick must be hugely fûcked off and let down

We just need to be better at what we do. Some of the best possession based teams also concede the fewest as they control the ball and win it back quickly when they lose it.

What's really surprised me is how our style seems to have changed during the Summer. We're much more reliant on width than before, I can only assume as we've not really got a number 10 anymore .

Exactly. Some people on here are going to bust some blood vessels they are so angry. Especially that Alvez character whom Im starting to get concerned about. His poor keyboard.

Seem to recall we all wrote this game off a few days ago so whats changed frankly.

We don’t and Carrick indicated we may not have one with his comment about different roles etc

As much as I have liked Dijksteel he’s not good enough either, and certainly not available enough.

Paddy at RB the less said the better.
 
I don't think Smith was playing badly until that rush of blood to his head.

Fry has been poor, Howson ***** and Engel threw the game away for us needlessly.

Smith's red card just snuffed any slim hope.
