The worry now…

If we lose to Sunderland, it has the potential to turn nasty again with ‘fans’ using the non-signing of a striker as a stick to beat the club & recruitment team with.

Let’s hope it doesn’t happen. We’ve seen the first signs of ‘the model’ turning a profit, and despite all the injuries we’ve had and a shocking start to the season, we’re within touching distance of the play-off places.

Players are on their way back from injuries, we’ll have McGree back soon. Still all to play for.

UTB!

Sunderland haven't had a striker for a season!

Is this the same recruitment team that people have been singing the praises of? ;)

That's the usual knee jerk reaction and it's much worse against "them". The reality is that Carrick is building a great team and that takes time. I think we are about where we should be. My only worry is that if we were not to make the play offs, MC could be tempted by other offers

Desperately short of a striker, not only do we not recruit one, we sell one of the most exciting forward talents we've had in years and a young academy product who's been banging them in for the under-21s! Then if we lose at home to our nearest rivals and fellow play off contenders - well it's not a good look, is it? I'm fully behind Carrick but we can all see where the main problem area is and we were all counting on the transfer window to put it right. It's hugely disappointing and it's hard to see us making it even into the play-offs - let alone get promoted - unless we get someone in on loan. I hope they indicate today that that's the plan...

The worry for me is that carricks tenure will be remembered as the almost years. With the club not giving the best boro manager in decades the financial backing to succeed.
