There's A Storm A Coming

Was watching the Revenant late last night and was very windy then. Great landscape and river scenes and the noise of the wind outside mine just added a third dimension to the harsh cold visuals . Had to put an extra top on
What a movie......draws you in doesn't it...

Ryanair flight from Manchester to Dublin, diverted to.........Paris. There have been a few running low on fuel and getting in where they can after being sat in the stack for a while.
 
It’s not *that* bad in Redcar and I’m only a couple minutes away from the beach.

My dog isn’t constantly barking at the windows which is a good thing.

Rain should pack up soon, wind about 28kt gusting to 50kt which is disturbing but not too extreme.
So on the Beaufort scale pretty nailed on force 7 gale, described on land as ‘Whole trees moving, resistance felt when walking’
Gusts are force 10 which on land is measured as ‘Seldom experienced, trees uprooted, considerable structural damage’
But I think Rear Admiral Beaufort was referring to the constant wind, not the gusts (but I’m not certain about that bit) maybe it apples to both.
 
I see that on the BBC weather app says that at 8pm on Tuesday night the wind in Chelsea is going to increase to 43mph. Not sure if this is good or bad for us, but the fact that it is a NE wind might be an omen. :unsure:

Excellent news. We could do with a quagmire and wind speed about 1 mph short of abandonment.
