When on Saturday the 7th December 1974 Boro beat Ipswich Town by 3 goal to nil
With 3 defeats & 2 draws from the last 5 games the Boro had the opportunity to get back on track with these 3 home games in a week
All 3 teams visiting Ayresome Park wore the same colour strip, dark blue shirts & white shorts & starting with Ipswich Town this afternoon, rearranged Leicester City fixture on Tuesday evening, due to the previous fixture postponed after 28 minutes due to floodlight failure & then, to round off a fantastic week of home 3 wins, Birmingham the following Saturday.
In front of 23,735 Graeme Souness bagged a brace, his 1st a nice free kick placed through the Ipswich wall in to their net, taking his tally so far for the season to 5 goals & an Alan Foggon strike, for his 9th of the campaign to ensure Boro ran out comfortable 3-0 winners & setting us up nicely for the Leicester fixture Tuesday night, fingers crossed the lights are working & we've paid the bills
