Look lads, lasses and trolls of the board, I know a lot of people will be gutted, ‘best chance etc’ but **** me, it’s a game of football.

Highs along with lows are part of the game.
Tactics along with skill, luck and fortitude are part of the game.

We have had a cracking season overall, totally changed direction since Carrick came in back in October.

We have scored goals galore, got POTS and also Top Goal Scorer in Chuba.

We have got Hayden Hackney who turned out to be our young gem and was in for YPOTS.

Our passing has been some of the best passing I have seen in games.
There is never a dull moment In our games, whether its our passages of play, or our worldy goals. EBen when we make mistakes, back passing to Steffan, for example, but he’s had a great season too, (brilliant save, timing to nick the ball away from Gyokeres’ feet).

Yeah we also need to find a Plan B for when thing are not going our way, but don’t forget we have had Carrick in for only 7 months, had a winter transfer window, which are rarely decent - but we did well in this one, getting Archer and Ramsey in. But the recruitment team done well back in preseason getting in the like of Giles, Steffan and Mowatt.

Lets have a summer break, recharge and look forward to a full preseason under Carrick and team, recruit well and build up our plan moving forward.

I for one am only slightly disappointed, but oh so full of hope for what’s coming ahead. Call me naive, call me rose-tinted (tainted, whatever) but I love the Boro, me.

Don’t forget, we are Boro, a small town in the industrious North East, but we are making a splash now.

CMON BORO!!!

People need to realise too that there's always another team in a match. It sounds obvious, but the opposition will work on plans to stop your team and at times those plans work well. Coventry got it spot on last night. We need to accept that and move on.

A few things haven't gone our way in the last month either. A combination of qualifting for the play-offs at the same time as injuries to key players meant the last few games were used to protect the other key players. We lost a bit of intensity and have struggled to retain it. If anything, the squad perhaps hasn't been strong enough, so hopefully that can be addressed in the summer.

True, it’s a game of two halves, two teams. Obviously we only see it from the Boro point of view.

Some posters, like Scrug, and the likes some other board members do see it from the opposite side, make comments then get shutdown by other posters, which is not really fair.

But yes, Coventry provided a masterclass of shutting us down tactically and then nicking it. Something we need to learn to do.

I know it’s not the footballing way, but I would like to see us recruit some big, no nonsense brutes and a niggly **** so we have the option of doing the same. Sometimes it’s needed against teams like Luton etc.

I know I am starting to ramble now, and go off on a different tangent, but that’s football.

This season................will stick in the memory that is for sure.

So many goals - I went to 4 away games and saw Boro score 8 league goals - nomally that would be 3 or 4.

At home.....5-0. 5-1, 4-0, 4-1.

Never known a season where we went from relegation candidates in October to challenging for top 2 in April.

Obviously we have to improve in certain areas and parts of our play, but not dramatically, from the second half of the season results. ( 14 wins, 3 draws, 6 defeats?). That equals 90 points over 46 games.

70 points last season to 75 points this season is progress.

OK disapointment at the end but not enough to drown out a memorable season.
