Those first six games of this season…

Absolutely. 2 points from 7 games gave us a mountain to climb. Even a poor start of 9 points from 7 games would have had us in the play offs!

I wouldn't say that. You can look at so many games since that we should have won. We have (had) one of the worst records against the bottom 6.

Failure to beat Rotherham or Plymouth home or away. They infact both beat us. That's games we have to be winning. That said do the double over Leicester and 4 points from Southampton. 'typical Boro' 😔

Sunderland at home. The most one sided 'derby' and Glover makes an absolute Howler. We also missed chances in that match.

So many ridiculous moments have cost us. That's from woeful finishing to comedy goals conceded.

That said make no bones about it injuries have absolutely decimated us. We've at times had 5-8+ what you'd call first team players out injured. It's not an excuse. It's ruined our season.

It kinda makes you excited for next season if we can keep key players fit. Also add a bit of quality. Imagine if we'd had the likes of O'Brien / Latte Lath / Forss / Mcgree / Jones etc for 35 games this season.

I mean even now we have one fit CB 😂

It’s the two Rotherham games, but particularly the away one. We should have won but ended up beaten. Even those 3 points would have us genuinely competitive for 6th place.

Failing the beat the bottom side, who are already relegated is terrible.

Not changing too much this Summer should help us start faster.
I'd look for no more than 3 new starters over the Summer
Starters yes, a forward, a 10 and a CM - I’d also like to see us upgrade at LB

My fear is that we will sign more development players who take 6 months to bed in and done of which aren’t good enough

We had our so-called key players available at the start of the season, for example....Hackney started all seven games, so what was the excuse, for our poor start.

We were awful, WBA and Coventry away we were battered (I stupidly travelled to both games), home games QPR & Millwall again very poor, no excuses or injuries to blame, we deserved to be 2nd bottom after 7 games in.

We are inconsistent, and have been all season, hence why we are 8th. we can beat the likes of Leicester, Southampton but easily get beat at home, to Stoke, Plymouth, QPR... and only get 1pt against the worst team in the league Rotherham....

I was asked today "how many games have I enjoyed this season at home"? only 4 games in the league have i enjoyed watching us... even today's game was a poor watch.

We have lost 16 games this season. only scoring 58 goals... against 53, with some hard games to play, that is not good enough to challenge for promotion

Last season we lost 15 games total, scoring 84 goals... against 56... that's 26 more goals and only 3 more goals against, and we were still not good enough to win promotion or the playoffs.

This team we have now is ok, we won't go down, but we also wont challenge the top, unless we improve the squad.

We need quality not quantity this summer....2 or 3 players that will go straight into the team, not 8-9 squad or development players.

We did have Hackney etc available. Yet we had also lost Akpom (golden boot winner) and Giles (most assists). That and Archer who was basically one in 3 and walks this league. Ramsey anything better than we have.

We signed the best part of 8 players who were clearly not as good. They couldn't be due to finances. So it was always going to take time. I still think we won't see the best of them until text season.

The rebuild was massive. We lost over half of our goals and assists. So yes the first 6 games were horrific. Yet kinda understandable.

The games since have cost us more. We have easily dropped 6-10 points since February nevermind September. Those 6 games could have easily been caught up over a season.

I will say those first 6 games blow any chance of automatic. The playoffs not so much.

We didn't sign a striker until after the first match, and Coulson was the only LB at the club.

meanwhile, even good young signings like Rogers were adjusting to first team football, and fans were offering to drive him to other clubs.

Jones started 2 of those games. Our ppg (before today) with him starting is 1.67 when he doesn't start it's 1.1, and that would have been significantly less had it not been for the three wins when he was returning from injury recently and stayed on the bench.

We didn't get the line up quite right early doors.
