Thought on young Sam Greenwood

Are you saying it was a good interview?

Stick a camera and hordes of media vultures in front of most people when they were 21 and they'd be nervous and might not make the best first impression. So what, he was a bit nervous, didn't give detailed answers and swung on his chair a bit.

I'd rather see a smooth operator on the pitch than the second coming of Paxman in a press conference. Goal contributions over eloquent sound bites any day of the week.

Couldn’t really give a ***** tbh. Judge him on the pitch, he’s a young lad who maybe hasn’t done that before. Bizarre to hammer him for it
It's what's known as doubling down. This is a textbook case.

They'll be studying this thread for years to come.

There is no "hammering" it was a poor interview and first impression, simple as.
Do you really think this was his first media interview? He's played for sunderland, arsenal and Leeds, has scored some great goals, I'm almost certain he has had an interview or 10.

He has the full backing from me! Just wasn't a good interview, and I'll say it again, looked bored and disinterested.

Probably his first full presser. He looked nervous. New boo boy already, woooo

The nerve of this lad, coming over here, swinging on our chairs. He’s lucky he’s got a chair. In my day he’d have been made to sit on the floor. Swinging in his chair, who does he think he is? He’s going have to hit a few hat-tricks now, if he’s going to convince me. He’s clearly got an attitude problem. I’ve never seen him play, I hadn’t even heard of him until yesterday morning, but I know he’s not good enough for what we need. Trust me. I mean I hope he is, I’ll be pleasantly surprised, but I don’t see it based on what I know. Which is nothing.

He's here to play football, and I thought his interview was fine. I like how he has family close by.

I thought O'Brien interview was very good. I get the feel he wants to make a real impact at the Boro.

Blimey we really are scraping the bottom of the barrel when a player is getting slaughtered for swinging on a chair and clearly not being comfortable in an interview!

I once saw Riley McGree struggling to parallel park his car in Saltburn... BOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Think back to Grant when he came in. Semi articulate at best and a regurgitation of standard phrases. He turned out to be a decent footballer !

If Greenwood's disinterest and discomfort lead to half as good a footballer as Grant. We'll all be happy

I call lie. Why would he parallel park in Saltburn. They are all in and out.

This is the thing, he made the wrong decision again, chose not to take the easy option on the Promenade in favour of the more difficult chance of parallel parking on Milton Street.

Bloody useless.

Fair enough. That shows poor decision making as well as skill. Get him out.

Just revisited his 24 minutes + pens vs Salford…
. free kick to set up Leeds goal upon arrival on pitch
. unlucky hitting crossbar on added time free kick
. confidently scored Leeds first penalty
. generally played a deeper midfield role
. not overly quick afoot but can play with both feet👍
