TN opening up today.

Governor of Tennessee has lifted some restrictions for businesses starting today. It's phase 1 of 4 phases. Today bar/restaurants can open to 50% capacity but nobody is allowed to sit at the bar. Maximum of 6 persons per table. Disposable menus or menus must be sanitized every new customer. Condiments the same procedure. Staff must wear disposable gloves and must wear masks. 6 ft spacing for tables. It's so restrictive I decided not to open but thought I would share with you what's happening in TN.

Yep. He is Republican. Most of the larger cities are lisuch as Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville.

Yep he is Republican. The larger cities such as Memphis and Nashville are Democrat. I think what people need to understand is that there are lots of counties in each State some of these counties have hugh areas with almost zero infections. Moore county has 4 whilst Davidson (Nashville) has hundreds if not thousands thus leaving it up to county and city mayors to decide what path to take. It's not universal. We have a couple of bars in town that opened today but I decided to be more cautious.

Hang fire: bars are opening first?
Sometimes you have to wonder...
Bar/restaurants first. Retail Wednesday. In my town/city there is a food to alcohol ratio. To stay in business I have to sell 55% food and 45% alcohol. There's a little leeway but not on a continual basis.

That seems entirely messed up. Opening up the places where people stay and congregate first and not retail places where people pass through with minimal contact. Where was the logic behind that?

Btw Nash I can see it from your point of view. If I owned a bar or restaurant I'd want to be able to open up asap. I was just thinking bigger picture

There is no logic or though in it. Staff have to wear masks but patrons don't. You can sit at a table but not the bar? None of it makes much sense but I have to obey the regulations. Actually these are only recommendations and not enforceable but if someone does get sick then you may as well kiss your business bye, because sure as hell social media will crucify you
