Tom Glover deserves another mention.

Don’t think he was that outstanding tonight tbh, that gift to palmer ends up in the back of the net 9 times out of 10, was lucky Chelsea can’t finish their dinner along with most of the defence and centre midfield who had similar lapses today, we need to cut out the sloppy play and passes

You don't often see the reserve keeper get a little sing song from the crowd - showing our appreciation tonight, even tho it probably wasn't his best game. Senny might have a battle on his hands.

Another big tick for our recruitment team… along with Dieng, Engel, VDB, Barlaser, McGree, Rogers etc etc

Maybe they know what they’re doing after all??

I don’t think this thread would have been started if Palmer had buried that easy chance. To call him outstanding is just getting carried away tbh and letting the emotions of last night cloud your judgement.

I do agree he did well to put it behind him but far from outstanding.

Clarke was outstanding for me, along with Jones and Hackney.

Howson had a very poor game by his standards but I do feel his age is catching up with him.

He was very good against Villa, but wasn't at his best last night, Palmer should have punished him for his poor handling.
Dieng will be back in the team when he's fit, but Glover is a good number two if and when needed.

I’m talking overall since being called upon, not just one mistake.

Again, I disagree, I don’t think he’s been outstanding in any match, he has done his job fairly well which is what you would expect tbh.

There is absolutely no chance he will replace Dieng when he is fit.

It was probably more the coaching team's decision to do so but he played it long at the right times last night rather than continuing to play it out from the back.

The only thing I'd question about Glover was when he stopped a shot the ball it would slip out of his hands way too easy, needs to get better at that.
