Any US based posters in the path of totality ? Any not, but going for a day trip to where it is? Never been near one to go to so bit jealous really, especially as US had one in 2017 also. Been doing a bit of looking into it . The religious prophets/watchers of the interweb on Youtube are all excited because the path of the main event covers all the towns/places in US that are called Nineveh which is a place in the Bible stories connected with Jonah. There is even a town in East Canada in the path and its also called Nineveh. Bizarre. Anyway, BBC is doing a livestream from a few points along the path which I will have to be happy with. Remember your proper glasses for your peepers !
People in West of a line from Cornwall to Northumberland may see about 5% 'bite' out of the sun just before our sundown, I think anyway. That's if we can see through thick cloud .🌗🌘🌑🌓🌔
 
I would be not too far south of the totality if I was at home, but am now on vacation in Utah so won't see much at all (weirdly the last partial eclipse I saw was the last time I was in Utah on vacation 6 months ago too).

Locals at home in Chicago tell me stories of driving to the totality area for the last one and being stranded in traffic for a day trying to get home again.
 
Just watched ‘leave the world behind’ and I can imagine there’s some over there that think the end of the world is upon them …
 
I'm in North Carolina and I keep hearing it'll be a thing here (?) although I haven't actually read up on it. I know we're not in the path of totality or whatever it's called, so maybe it won't be noticeable.

It actually only passes over 2 of about 7 places with the name Nineveh in totality.

I was in Montreal for it today. Must admit, I thought it might be a bit of an anti-climax but it wasn’t at all, totally worth seeing one. 👍
