You've got my favourites well covered in the list. Paul Rogers would get in mine, he's up there with the greatest of all time as a singer.
Honourable mentions to the other locals. David Coverdale and Chris Rea. Both excellent as well 👍

Vlad, not a massive rock fan, however seems quite a predictable list. What would your say top ten be?

Safe and predictable. There’s barely a metal artist on there. Chester Bennington, Corey Taylor and Jonathan Davis would make my list. I actually quite like Trent Reznor and NIN but they might be the most overrated band in history.

Just a few notes on the replies:

Male: Yes I would have had Paul Rogers in the Top 20 as well as Roger Daltrey. Chris Cornell is another worth a mention.

Female: Floor is a glaring omission.
As much as I love Stevie as a song writer, her vocals haven't been great for a while, so for me Ann Wilson and Amy Lee should be above her.

But it's all subjective.

The categorisation of whether someone is a 'rock frontman' is very subjective.

I'd have Dave Gahan and Brandon Flowers in there whereas John Lydon would be nowhere near.

And what about Jeff Lynne?

Tatiana Shmailyuk from Jinjer has been my favourite for the last year or two.
And I'd have Mike Patton among the men.

Chester should be top 5, was an amazing vocalist.

What is classed as rock, hard rock and metal is so subjective but there are some glaring omissions.

Bruce Springsteen, Chester Bennington, John Lennon (had a wonderful singing voice) immediately spring to mind.

Axl Rose being so high and Pat Benatar being so low is baffling.

I think Dave Grohl has a great voice too. It only really struck when was singing with McCartney at Glastonbury last week how strong and powerful a voice he has.

Need Myles Kennedy in that list Vlad and as someone else said Chris Cornell. Subjectivity is weird no, I'd have Diamond Dave in top 5 front men but not for his vocals at all, always poor when I saw him live, going back to 78.

Amazed Eddie Vedder didn't make the cut, and I think Brode Dalle (The Distillers) has a way stronger voice than the likes of Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani. Biggest omission for me though is Tanya Donnelly (Throwing Muses, Breeders, and Belly).
