Top 3 debut albums

Today's top 3:
X-Ray Spex - Germfree Adolescent
Faithless - Reverence/Irreverence
The Smiths - The Smiths (yes I know some trainspotter will say Hatful of Hollow was out earlier, but that was realy and extended EP)

Tough one.

Marquee Moon is probably my favourite album ever so that needs to be in there.

Turn on the bright lights - Interpol
Funeral - Arcade Fire

Honorary mention to White Stripes (s/t), fever to tell (yeah yeah yeahs), elliot Smith (Roman candle) and songs of Leonard Cohen.

Will probably change again in half an hour 🤣

Billy Bragg - Life's A Riot With Spy Vs Spy (only really an extended EP I know but it transformed what songs could say, for me)
Tom Waits - Closing Time. Still utterly sublime.
Everything But The Girl - Eden

Debut albums?
Too early in the morning for me read properly, obviously! 🤓👍 Sorry ‘bout that.

Thanks for the re-direction. Makes more sense of some of the previous submissions too.

OK, how about:-

King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King
Elbow - Asleep In The Back
Ronnie Lane & Slim Chance - Anymore For Anymore

Marquee Moon and Funeral have already been mentioned by others, and are astonishingly good.

The Bats - Daddy's Highway. Like an album full of A-sides, total jukebox of a record!

The Pipettes - We Are The Pipettes. Maybe a little throwaway but as above!

Top - Emotion Lotion. Terrible band name, cover and title but the record is fantastic! It's like The Stone Roses-lite, great record! (y)
Loved the Pipettes

I'd probably have to put RATM's self titled debut in my top 3.

Some crackers above too. My other 2 if pressed to answer today would be Appetite for Destruction by GnR and also Pearl Jam - Ten as Weegord also stated above.

Some people with poor taste, the correct answer is of course

Ring Ring - Abba
Bat Out Of Hell - Meatloaf
Welcome To - The Beautiful South

The Blue Nile are a band I have tried several times to get into but failed. Might give that album a listen.
