nope, with some actual wingers in the squad, we can release Tavernier back to CM. Our CM pool is now Howson, Taveriner, Saville, Morsy and then young Hackney as 5th choice. IF, we get a couple of injuries and end up playing Hackney and IF he isn't quite up to it, then maybe McNair will be put back in midfield. But that's a lot of IFs.

With the number of wingers/10s, I do wonder if we are going to go down the 4231 route. Particularly taking into account the last team had no strikers in it, but 4 on the bench.

We now Akpom, Mendez-Laing, Kebano, Bolasie, Tavernier, Watmore, Spence, Coulson, Johnson and Fletcher all capable of playing in those 3 attacking roles behind a CF. That is a lot of options for that formation and with Wing leaving, we have less options for CM. so playing an extra attacking player and one less midfielder starts to make sense.
