Things are very slow, I don't think its the club's fault at all, but with less than 2 weeks to go we dont even seem close to sorting out our front line. Does anyone foresee a couple of last ditch desperate loans?
Don't think one is Forss, because the context was that we would have to be patient [whilst their clubs brought in replacements].Wilder made a comment about 2 premier league signings last week, can't remember what the exact comment was but I assume they're both loan strikers and one of them is Marcus Forss.

Forss isn't part of their first team squad, so I doubt its him?
My guess is yes, it would be Armstrong, and also Muniz, but if so Southampton want two strikers and Fulham one.I forgot the context, just remember reading something similar - if that's the case, it can only be Adam Armstrong?
The alternative, if you want to sign someone with a decent record, is a big up front fee. When that doesn't work it can cost you a fortune, as it did with Britt, Fletcher, Gestede etc. A bad loan is only a short term risk. If it goes well then it can be frustrating as it was with Bamford when we couldn't keep hold of him. There is a chance with a loan from a PL club that you can get an exceptional talent that is still developing. There's a lot of rubbish players that don't amount to anything.I’m totally against the loaner route — what’s the point of having players in your team who aren’t really yours? Granted there maybe a need to have one one or two but when they’re not part of your long term strategy they can easily switch off just as Balogan did last season. Moreover, if we’re involved in a relegation scrap can you really count on those players who will be returned back their parent club at the end of the season? No is the answer to that simple question.
They also had 21 contracted first team players to add to the 5 loans they signed. The loan market worked ok for Forest last season, they now have £120,000,000 to buy their own!!
If those 4 signings come off we will batter this leagueArmstrong and Muniz loans agreed, Forss imminent and looking at Fran Navarro , so add Watmore and Coburn and the pressure is off.
Will there be an upgrade on one or two ? Will we sign a player instead of a loan ?
Forss is another player who is a sub for a premier league team, like Gayle, Armstrong, Muniz, Balogun , Connelly, so this suggests where our recruitment team look. Muniz and Armstrong are upgrades on Balogun and Connelly.I would love Us to find our own gems , not looking likely the way we are working. Navarro looks the part, more like him I expected, not Forss, but he will get my backing as anyone in a Boro shirt does.
I like your optimism Starbuck!! Let’s face it we have to be optimistic with CW at the helm — he did a decent job last season with a very average first 11. Surely it can’t get any worse in his first full season. If those 4 signings come off we will batter this league
He’s a decent manager, which makes it more galling he’s not being backed. Most season cards for years. A positive feel good factor which is being tested by Boro sitting on their hands all summer. A decimated squad, if you can call it a squad. 14 players. 11 days till we kick off.I like your optimism Starbuck!! Sitting on their hands all summer? Yup ok buddy. He’s a decent manager, which makes it more galling he’s not being backed. Most season cards for years. I wouldn't bother, he has never posted anything remotely positive, I think he's a mackem.Sitting on their hands all summer? Yup ok buddy.
I'm not sure what you expect. Sometimes the market dictates the play. What dreamland are you living in? One where you expect a season to finish and then we just go out and in a week or two we get all our top targets?
i disagree entirely i think its critical we dont depend on young forwards loans from top teams, it doesnt work. We need to be developing or buying in our own price bracket, ie good league 1 or even league 2 playersI think the loan route is critical, particularly for forwards. Many top teams are keen for their younger forwards to get experience and can be picked up cheaply. The players are often keen too and willing to come to teams like the Boro for a season when they might not on a longer permanent deal.
