A good game overall.

Superb defending from Jack Hannah - we have another Ben Gibson / Dael Fry there. He took on a trees side which included first-teamers - excellent.

Fisher 8/10 - great at intercepting the ball from set pieces.

Sykes 7/10 - better second half.

Agyemang 7/10 - possess power holding off the opposition and is good on the turn.

Hannah 9/10 - He should play in the first team and get more experience in the mans game. Inspired confidence and commanded space.

Bilongo 7/10 - knew where to pass and kept his head up.

Simpson 8/10 - never stopped breaking up trees forward moves. Can shift.

AJ Bridge 8/10 - the lad`s got talent and knew where the ball needed to go next.

Nkrumah 6/10 - a foot short every time. Only started putting pressure on Trees back line in 2nd half, but didnt push on, preferring to slow down and give their defence a breather.

Stott 8/10 - stopped their international players from playing the hard man. Not afraid to upset their flow.

Howells 9.5/10 - the smallest / slender lad on the pitch. Moved like schitt off a stick up the left hand line and out-paced more experienced Trees. Stuck his foot in cleanly to take the ball off their forwards, bombing into the box. Needs a few good Sunday dinners to beef up a bit - as his slender frame was knocked off the ball by some of their fat gristle-type defenders. Fearless.

I’d rather give someone like Howells a game at left back than Coulson.

Doesn’t he have Swedish links? 🤔 Maybe he could be our scandi savour.

Considering we were up against International players who have played in the Premiership - our 19 / 20 year old lads played well.
The reason for a reserve side is to make mistakes, provide the best coaching available and introduce them to the mans game. Some have already got a taste of that experience - training with our senior squad. Little Max Howells at 18 was the youngest in the starting line up last night. Compared to last season, the U21`s have come on no end. Its a credit to Mark Tinkler and his staff of what they`ve achieved.
If anyone can access the fixtures list for the U18`s / U21`s - they are worth a watch.
About 450 turned up at Meadow Lane last night. Lots of Trees fans and a handful of Boro supporters were there [quality, not quantity].
By the looks of it - a few scouts with computer tablets and note books.
