UBER in the Boro

They were here last weekend with 80% off.. Got an Uber to a party in the town and back for less than £5 return

Long may it continue and give the mafia some competition that it cannot buy/bully out.

Very pleased to see Uber coming to this area, at last.

Competition is always healthy for the customer and I think very few people will be sorry to see Boro Taxis lose their stranglehold.

competition is great, just be wary if we end up replacing one monopoly with another. Like I said above, £25 Uber wanted for 2 miles across Stockton to Thornaby station ... its definitely not all roses.

Very rarely have any issues with Boro taxis. Some good lads frive for them.
Other taxi firms have come and gone with their owners selling out to Boro.

Just checked. Uber £21 from my house to Boro train station. Boro taxi £10.

I’ve seen posts from other drivers saying it’s not just Uber and not Boro drivers doing this. Apparently kids have been doing this to any taxis in certain areas including Boro.

Shortage of Uber cars at the moment. I went to Norton last night and checked if Uber had cars available. They did and it was just under £16. Went to book one an hour later and it had gone up to £30.

That’s the main issue with Uber. Their price surges can be huge when driver availability is low. It should improve as more drivers are employed but you have the choice of using other firms when it happens which is why added competition is good.
