Still hope there is a Derby in the championship come the end of February, if they do survive it will come to a head and be resolved in the 1st week of Feb, it is typical football and the coincidences that pop up that we will be both playing each other a week after the dust is settling and temperatures are still high, Despite the in and outs of this neutral people will side with Derby and see us as the bad ones.

I’m curious about our claim and how that has been calculated. Estimates of 40 mill? hope a solution is found (for all claimants) that keeps Derby in business. Too much negative noise about our club at the moment when things are going so well on the field.

Isn't it possible that £40 M estimate is a proportion of the £150 M a club is supposed to make existing just one season in the Premier League ?

A better/tougher question might be;

Would you like MFC to go through with the claim if it meant Derby would be liquidated as a consequence? Yes or No.

We've been there and we know what its like.

Why are you tieing the liquidation threat in with us, they will not be liquidated because of Middlesbrough, if they are liquidated it will be because they are unable to pay there debts and fail to reach an acceptable solution with all the creditors.
If that question is posed to me, I'm not saying they will be liquidated because of MFC and agree entirely with what you say. I was trying (possibly clumsily) to word the OP's question better because you could answer both in the affirmative, ie

yes, I want Derby liquidated because they cheated, and
no, I don't want Boro potentially liquidating another club

I now see that Uncle Rico hasd made a far better job of it than me.

If you listened to the radio Derby show with Mark Drury and then the Wycombe chairman they both stuck to their guns but said there was a discussion to be had. The two presenters understood the Boro and Wycombe point of view to a point but still had the line of its going to be your clubs that put the final nail in the coffin. Don't you feel a bit guilty about that.
NO!
Morris and administrators get your fingers out and do what it takes to save your club.
Morris what about the £81 million ground?

I've made up my mind now.
Horrible club. We are best shot of them.
Going public on this along with that performance in parliament yesterday has sealed it for me.
This isn't like someone unexpectedly losing their job and finding they can't pay.
The club lied about their income and stopped paying debts in order to bring in luxury players they knew they could not afford.
And now they are being asked to pay what they owe and they don't have the means.
How is that our chairmans fault?
Middlesbrough payed it's debts and brought in the best players we felt we could afford.
We developed our youth players. We brought in quality from non league football.
Because our chairman put a claim in for compensation somehow that means it's our fault they are now on the verge of extinction.
He thinks it's a legitimate payment we are owed and has been trying to bring it to their attention legally in the proper way for some time.
If it's such a spurious claim why are these buyers so worried about it.
How do we know these "buyers" are that interested anyway.
It's not like they have a good track record when it comes to honesty.
Up until yesterday I hoped Derby would survive.
I thought if they were relegated to league 1 that would be fair and that would be the end of it.
They easily have enough to bounce back better than ever once they decide to use their resources more honestly.
They should have behaved more honourably and kept discussions on this between the clubs private. Certainly at this stage.
But instead they decide to whip their own fans into a frenzy of hatred towards us.
Yet again our club is being made out to be the guilty party when we have done absolutely nothing wrong.
Brian Clough left them and wouldn't go back.
I can see why.

The question plays into the hands of the Derby rhetoric. Even their local BBC coverage is shocking.

We have the right, as a private entity, to put a legal case forward. We did so years ago. We have reached out to the administrators on multiple occasions to facilitate a settlement. The administrators have proven themselves incapable. The failing of governance from the EFL is why this has been allowed to happen.

The question is not “do we want to see them liquidated”. The question should be “who do you blame for Derby County facing liquidation”. The answer is Mel Morris. The reason this is dragging on is the administrators and the EFL. Derby fans should be angry at them.

I persist that if the actions of MFC and WWFC in this example are listened to, football fans will thank them in the long run for forcing the EFL and the government get their fingers out and sort financial fair play and the fan led review asap.

They should be punished to the letter of the law for cheating. Their fans are not blameless, they were happy to support the MM administration when they thought it was working to their benefit.

The football club broke the rules, they have to be held fully accountable for the effect of their actions . If not another team can do it again, and the only losers are the creditors and other clubs. If that means liquidation then sadly that's what it means.

I was thinking an average of £18k/week for 25 players thats £450k plus managment team - £600k a week is £30m a year - our wage bill in 2019/20.

Based on Tom Lawrence on £37k/week I will up that to £25k/week average = £775k/week or £40m a year.

If they halved their wages bill they probably could have paid us off and possibly Wycombe too.
Tom Lawrence is an exact example of why they are in the mess they are. I remember when they signed Bradley Johnson from then premier league Norwich , Mick Mccarthy said the wages he had heard being mentioned were "eye watering" . This was a club who hadn't been in the Premier league for ages .

TOM LAWRENCE ON £37,000 A WEEK - THEY ARE NOT BUST

But it's all Gibson and Middlesbrough's fault....

Imagine how much they would have saved if they had sacked him after his drink driving race. Instead they sacked the only one who didn't get a criminal record

They could and should of sacked all of them it would of saved themselves a fortune

The sacked the only one who didn't have a transfer value you mean! Appalling really, in any industry.

I think the poll of the OP is a bit leading really, liquidation is a by product of Derby's punishment, not part of it.

Justice is usually subjective depending upon your standpoint, but I think most independent observers would say that real justice would see Derby relegated. If they stay up this season then the punishment is far less impactive than if they don't, given that next season the slate is effectively wiped clean.

But then so many other clubs have broken the rules and not been punished effectively.

Personally, I hope they stay up, Boro and Wycome are adequately compensated and no other clubs find themselves in the same circumstances.

Keogh got injured - that was why he was sacked so they didn't have to pay for his recovery. He was 'only' a passenger as well!

Apparently the £40m is a figure that has been put in to the public domain, emanating from someone connected to the administrators.

The administrators appear to operate in a similar way to Mel Morris - manipulate, deceit, delay.

When other clubs have gone into administration, things have moved relatively quickly compared to the Derby debacle - assets sold, staff cuts, wage adjustments or significant playing staff transfers.
