Villa bid for Morgan Rogers

If heā€™s their #1 target for the window that sort of suggests they would want him to play.

Not bad for someone who is ā€œLeague 1 at bestā€.
If they think heā€™s good enough to be in
Their first team, then you have to start the discussion at 20m because you just donā€™t get many prem first team attacking players below that value

I am astounded if this is true. Villa's number 1 target? He's been decent since he came here but I dont think he makes our starting 11 when everyone is fit nevermind the Villa squad.

What he has done is wasted a lot more chances then Ramsey some of his decision making is very poor plus Ramsey had a much better first touch definitely not as quick as Ramsey yes he stronger can run at people but mostly runs into trouble

If all that's true, why do you think Villa one of the most successful clubs of the last few years, with an extremely successful transfer policy, and one of the most respected managers in the world have made him their number one transfer priority?
Could it be that they're better at judging footballers than you?

Wonder what our valuation is and if Villa will come back?

Sounds like Rogers would be open to the move, and couldnā€™t blame him, but heā€™s only been here 6 months. Would have to be silly money for us to accept I think which I donā€™t think Villa can do at the minute.
This model, at the risk of reducing people to tradeable commodities, feels a little like buying and selling shares. Try to get good prospects cheap when they're unfancied and therefore available at a low price. Then hold them while they hopefully improve and rise in value. Occasionally, a bid comes in and the price jumps up overnight - and as with shares, sometimes the timing is surprisingly early and you make a really quick profit, other times you have to hang on to them for a while and some end up being worth nothing!

I suspect he'll go, but interesting as to what price. And surely not before the Chelsea game?

from The Athletic -

Aston Villa have made an approach to sign Middlesbrough forward Morgan Rogers.

Rogers, 21, has emerged as the primary transfer target for Villa boss Unai Emery in the January transfer window.

Rogers ā€” who joined Championship side Middlesbrough six months ago ā€” is understood to be excited by the opportunity of joining Villa, who currently sit third in the Premier League.

No agreement has been reached but both Rogers and Emery are keen for the transfer, with an offer made to Middlesbrough.

We would take anything above 10m surely. Would be good business after getting him cheap.

Must have been a low ball 1st offer.
