Hi not sure if any others have done this, I "upgraded" from the V6 account I was on, at no cost it has to be said as it was supposed to offer more be faster etc.
Frankly to me its rubbish, one of the big advantages of the system I had was that you could have the box tuned to a channel say football, be watching a recording, then when the recording ends re-wind the live TV to see goals / incidents if you wanted. Now when you stop watching the recording, you tube etc you can only re-wind to the point at which you stopped watching the recording. Might not be a big deal for many but to me was one of the great features of the virgin tv system.
Also displaying recordings, and options with what to do with them, now you have a box image along the bottom of the screen, no indication of timing so again if you have a series with several episodes each list separately, similarly options setting series links to record has changed.
Looking at the tv guide, quick press previously to only show film, sports listings now you have to get to the top of the screen, no quick access button so have to go up page by page, so if guide is on sports eg channel 500 have to get past bbc1, seems crazy. sop what should be faster / easier is not.

called Virgin, no help with the lad on de-selecting tv service in call centre, he is waiting for technical to come back to him to see if I can reverse the upgrade of software on the tv box, they don't make calls back to customer, do not escalate calls to managers etc, so to get my answer I have to keep phoning in and see if technical has responded to his request! they don't make calls to help customers but will make calls to sell extras.

Normally service is fine, any technical issues get resolved quick enough this is similar to when I moved 4 years ago and i was cut off and treated as a new customer not someone who has been with NTL/VIRGIN for 20 years or so.

It took me nearly 2 hours on online chat to get my broadband upgraded last week, customer service is really poor.
