Not tried this so might not work.

Ring them up.

Tell them your moving and the new property you don`t need separate internet.

Get your wife to ring up as a new customer.

If they question the same surname say "Well isn`t that a coincidence, you gunna take my business or what?"

Probably a flaw in there somewhere but you never know

Can`t see there being a rule about how many days between new accounts.
I bought my house and the previous owner was with Virgin and they had cancelled the last owners account linked to the address and connected me in a week (giving time to get all the hardware through the post)

or......

you could ring them up and say I understand there will be an increase, I`m willing to pay this much. If they don`t agree and it`s higher than you want you run the risk of not getting a call and disconnected
 
I think the rule applies only to existing customers cancelling and then applying for a new customer offer in their own name.
 
I cancelled Sky a couple of months ago, the broadband renewal deal theyoffered was ok but they wouldn’t budge much at all on the TV package, got no where near what other people I know pay so sacked then off. It seems they don’t always cave in with a good offer.

I just pay for prime and netflix now alongside freeview and the wife gets Disney included in her phone deal.

They asked for the kit back and wanted all leads so to be a tw6t I filled the box with every old lead I could find.
