Visiting Family in other households

I was expecting this to me mentioned in today’s update. A lot of people missing seeing their parents, sons, daughters, grandparents, grandchildren, brothers, sisters etc because they live separately.

When we talk of mental health and well-being missing family has a big impact.

Did I miss it?

But we might be able visit a restaurant by the beginning of July. Nice as that sounds it’s not my biggest priority right now.

I suppose, as you will be allowed to sunbathe in a park and drive to somewhere for exercise, you could drive to their nearest park and sunbathe 2m from them.

You can meet up with families in a restaurant in July.

I thought there would be something.

I'm really surprised he didn't lead with that news actually. Might have taken a little bit of the heat off him for an hour or so. 🤔🤣

this is correct, the 2m social distance rule applies to everyone, so it doesn't exclude family, you can meet up, using social distancing.....

He didn't say restaurants would be open in July. He said restaurants would not open before July, and then only if the science was favourable.

Grandkids missing giving them a cuddle, they came around yesterday and sat out the back garden which was great.

Not going to happen for a while for us. 2 Granddaughters in Northumberland and the other 3 Granddaughters in Norfolk, but he did say we could drive, he did not give a limitation on time or distance.

This would be hard to police, but it isn't really what was being suggest ed. It was clearly stated that outings should be with your own household only. I'd like to think people would sit themselves significantly more than 2m from other groups. But this won't happen, the regulation s will now be massively abused because they're impossible to police

Would be painful to see the Grandkids but not be able to cuddle them and how they will think when their grand parents will not cuddle them. Think we will leave for now.

Of course if you and your parents/ grandparents and kids can get a job on the same building site your sorted.

I reckon I could mix some cement and get my nephew to hoy a brick or 2 at me. I'm not a brickie but I can learn and he loves causing chaos :ROFLMAO: He's only 3 though so he'll need a peppa pig hard hat

Far too many haven’t done that for the last 8 weeks, so they’re not going to start now.

I'd agree Rico.

Personally I have no intention of changing current routines, other than staying out a bit longer and letting the kids have a bit of a play occasionally, rather than heading straight home from a walk, bike ride etc. But many people now have the green light to abuse regulations that are impossible to regulate.

It has already become impossible for the police to regulate outside they gave up in parks and beaches at the weekend because of sheer numbers. The change is a green light to go anywhere and lounge and removes a big policing problem

I understand that. But removing the policing problem isn't going to assist in the aim of continuing to reduce infection rates. There should've been a strong re-enforcement of the fundamental rules to at least attempt to correct the slide in behaviour over the last week or so
