I posted on saturday how alarmed I was at how the collective heads went down on saturday.
Tonight was exactly the same.
This Middlesbrough squad has demonstrated it too many times this season.
I know there has been an unfortunate cluster of defensive injuries. To have your first and second choice right backs out together, at the same time as your only left back, your golden boy centre half and the other recognised centre back, is very very unlucky.
I know that bringing in many players will take time to settle and gel.
I know we haven't had the best of luck at times.
BUT, the players appear brittle in adversity. They are not ruthless enough when on top and not resilient enough when under the slightest pressure.
The Management team appear incapable of organising those in the matchday squad and motivating them to concentrate and perform.
We are an average squad that with a different mentality and better leadership could flirt with the top six.
The brittle nature of the players and lack of control of the management sees us looking also rans.
Something surely has to give?
