4/1 Sunderland. That’s where the smart money is.
Because theyre playing each other. If we get to the final we'd be slight favs, but nothing majorLuton and Sunderland, both the same price?
Yeah bookies, must think their games together are too close to call.Luton and Sunderland, both the same price?
It might not matter as much as you think....Form is so important going into the playoffs and we have the worst form of the 4 teams. We may have the better team but the best team doesn't usually win the play offs it is the one in the best form.
All this tinkering with the team , resting players etc has left us looking flat and not the same team we were. It's a dangerous game to play as you can't expect to switch it on and off.
What price were they a few weeks ago when you could bet on Swansea and Co? (There was a thread on here)
Hope you're right but Sunderland have the bit between their teeth now. They'll be buzzing having made it over the line they way things worked out yesterday and will be a very difficult side. Young players playing without fear and on a roll plus an experienced and tactically astute manager.
They were 12/1 on Sunday morning.Last month I got a bet on them at 12/1.
Yeah as much as the stats might not play out that way it's always unnerving to see a side peak at the right timeHope you're right but Sunderland have the bit between their teeth now. Hopefully Luton do a job on them.
Sunderland have done exceptionally well to finish top 6, the wonder goal right at the death v Watford and Millwall losing from being 3-1 up yesterday makes it a minor miracle - more so when you consider they did so with the second lowest points total ever for 6th place.Hope you're right but Sunderland have the bit between their teeth now. Coventry recorded the lowest ever total for 5th place.
We've known our fate for weeks now and I'm not sure that either of these teams will benefit from the emotional scenes yesterday.
But they aren't.Don't get carried away by these odds as the playoffs are just a lottery.
Simon Jordan also agrees, today on Talksport predicting Luton - Boro finalI think sometimes when a team's big achievement is getting there, as it was for Sunderland yesterday, then they lose something going on to the next game. They've already had that big cathartic moment of joy, and relief. We saw in our Euro final run that a big win like against Steau doesn't carry over to the next game.
The teams that have been comfortable in the playoffs most often win. The one exception is where they miss out on the autos at the very death but that wasn't the case for us (or Luton) this season.
I wouldn't write anyone off but I'd still expect a Luton v Boro final.
