Yeah he kicked out, you can’t do that, the Norwich player was completely stupid, if I was a Norwich fan I would be wanting him disciplined.Jonny’s view - like I said, a bit of gamesmanship involved as well.
This angle isn't the best.
Well….we have now.Comes under the definitely seen them given category.
I love Jonny HowsonJonny’s view - like I said, a bit of gamesmanship involved as well.
The board would be outraged if it had happened to a Boro player.
Why should Howson be expected to just ignore it when an opposition player has deliberately set out to hurt him?Well….we have now.
Poor from Howson but some of our fans think it’s fine “because other clubs do it”.
I’m sure they would have also defended a Norwich player had the shoe been on the other foot and they got one of our lads sent off.
If we are gonna call out awful decisions against us we should do the same when they go in our favour.
I suspect a lot of those in the 'never ever a red' camp would be absolutely blasting a Boro player in the same set of circumstances. I know the Boro aren't flavour of the month on or off the pitch at present but football fans can be weird sometimes.I'm not seeing any luck involved, unless having a ref who knows the rules counts.
It does seem like a lot of our so called supporters were left disappointed with the red card though

having watched from that angle, it would seem that the lad stiffens his leg so that he makes stud contact on howson, never really gonna hurt, but it is a petty retaliation. The lads an idiot for doing it
sometimes you need a little bit of luck to turn things around, we got it, lets make it count now and get a bit of consistent form and pull away from this nonsense at the bottom of the tableWe were lucky that a Norwich player lost his head in a game we were being totally dominated in, without it we'd have got absolutely nothing.

What exactly did howson do wrong, he didn't fling himself to the ground and roll around. he pointed to his thigh but the ref had seen it alreadyWell….we have now.

Can't even believe it's a debate to be honest. Have people not watched football before? You cannot deliberately kick out at an opponent off the ball, it's always a red card. Doesn't matter how hard or otherwise the kick is. The fact this was with studs up, probably makes it more clear cut than some (even though it wasn't dangerous) .Deffo red. The ref was stood about 3 yards away with a clear view of the intent. Close enough to see the Spaniards face as he did it.
The contact was slight, but it was the studs and obviously a deliberate act, to endanger an opponent.
