West Brom Season Ticket prices

If you put bums on seats now they still have to watch end of season meaningless runin games if the season doesnt go as hoped and spend money in your ground so its win win

I have family who live down that way and are big Baggies fans. Their prices have been excellent for years. That makes it so affordable for families. Fair play to them 👏.

Surely they want to up the ticket prices so they don’t have to take high interest loans secured against the club?

I don’t believe Mr Gibson ( peace be upon him) would charge one more penny than the club needs, he understands the economics of the area, he really is one of us.

I agree, the pricing is definitely methodical. The money goes towards the kitty so we are really all playing our part.

Understands the economics of the area and yet we were ranked as 2nd highest priced season tickets in the Championship last season. Walk up prices are a disgrace. Gibson has done a lot for the club but to say he wouldn't charge any more than the club needs is naive. He's a businessman at the end of the day.

But he isn't doing it for profit is he, like he would with any other business? I believe he will charge the most he believes the Teesside public can afford, as every penny helps the club in the FFP era. It doesn't suit everyone else's idea of what that should be, but I believe he simply looks at sales and judges it by that.

They are high because that’s what SG and NB want
It’s a choice

Much like poverty in society - that’s a political choice]

But

In this instance SG has martyrdom status and is beyond criticism.
I agree with you that its what they want. But I don't believe its anything to do with martyrdom as such, its just them trying to make their life as easy as possible by having the highest possible revenue.

It maybe a choice dictated by circumstance, are you saying it’s greed and exploitation that sets the price?.

The martyrdom point is about those defending it.
It’s Teesside not firkin Notting Hill
Which is exactly why its high. The football club is an incredibly crucial centre piece of the town and Teesside area, where football is the only popular spectator sport. He charges more, because he can, but it doesn't go in his pocket. Clearly WBA don't have the same position in the market in the Black Country.

I used to live in Notting Hill btw, not everyone there is rich, far from it.

I’m saying they are choosing to charge the good folk of Middlesbrough, a pretty deprived area, over the oddsto watch their community club.

I’m also saying people will defend this. The rich always find ways of getting people to defend their policies.
