Nobody will buy - or invest in - a club that is worth MINUS £132m, because it owes its parent Group £142m.
It doesn't matter whether you want Gibson to stay or go, he is stuck with owning the club and we are stuck with him owning it.

The Club is a financial basket case and we have had 1 season in 15 in the top flight.
We have lost £143m since relegation in 2009, we had lost just £104m in our history to that point.
Gibson props it up. If he didn't then the loans he has made are up in smoke, the club in liquidation and his equity worthless too.

Well if that is true, which seems weird when you look at other clubs with similar cashflow, then it's been terribly financially mismanaged to get to that point. Even Steve Gibson knows he's not an eternal being!

I guess we can all, hazard a guess, but no-one really knows where the Boro and SG's finances really are

I think we can all Riley McGree they're not good!

Gibbo all day long, you could be the richest man in the world but there's only so much you can do with FFP ,better the devil you know for me

When you see what other clubs can do in the FFP restrictions, we must have a problem with our financial management team!

I won’t lie, I don’t have a F***ing clue how FFP works.
Yep, me too. It’s like a lot of things in my life, my phone, the internet, my television.
I know those things are there but don’t know how any of them work FFP seem to be a bunch of rules that few people seem to adhere to.

We should be thankful we haven't been in the same trouble as other clubs over the years. See Charlton, Blackburn etc. Where the fans have been actively protesting.

HOWEVER, when a fella takes money out the club to build himself a new mansion, a golf course, and a 3 million private pub. That's when it frustrates me
Takes money out of the club? Are you serious? He's a wealthy man from owning successful businesses that have amassed a fortune, and you think he puts the one business which isn't successful in further financial trouble by using its money rather than his own for his personal purchases?

Either a wind up or a very stupid comment.

I think he's backed Carrick with sustainability in mind, so many clubs go under and he's thinking long term
Yeah this is how I’m looking at it. The start to this season has been very predictable given the signings we have made but I’m hanging my hopes on it being the start of a bigger picture.

I think unfortunately as fans we will need to show a trait none of us usually possess when it comes to football and that’s patience as it may be that we don’t challenge for promotion again for a season or two.

It’s a shame though after the good will that was built up last season to see it crumble away so quickly this season.

For what it’s worth I’m in the better the devil you know camp when it comes to Gibson. He’s far from perfect but deep down he’s a Boro lad so that’ll do for me.

I know for a fact, I trust Gibson more than anyone else owning the club, I'm not a fan boy of Gibson, I think he's got flaws, I think he's made some shocking decisions, but I know he has made those decisions for the good of the club, he would rather put a hand in his own pocket than let us go under. The reality is we are short by thousands for every home game unless its a special occasion, we just don't generate the kind of income Leeds or Sunderland can.
