Bare bones - fielding pretty much our only fit and available 11 against Coventry. Lots of concerns , fatigue, rushing players back. Roll on to now and we have what looks like a quality squad to choose from with as shown on Saturday a very strong bench for match day. Carrick is starting to have the famous ‘selection headache’ which is a great place to be. Only the central striker role is still a little concern but I think the club will bring one more in and Josh looks like he will be ok with a rest again Saturday and the options around the fluid front three formation we seen at Millwall.
Very hard to say what anybody’s starting 11 is at the moment which as I say is a massive change from just a couple of weeks ago when if you were fit you started. Come on Boro.

This isn’t a dig by the way, but you have been one of a few very vocal posters who has suggested Jones is rubbish and not good enough.

I haven’t seen you post about him for a while ( I may have just missed it) I am interested in your thoughts on him now? I think he’s been excellent this season.
 
He would not start in my first 11. I think he is still far too wasteful and frustrates the life out of me on a Saturday afternoon. I think he is an instinct player but struggles when he has time to make decisions.i would have Forss straight back in wide right. Realise I am in a very small minority when it comes to Jones but time will tell and as I said in the OP it will be Carrick’s call now he has that ‘selection headache

You pretty much echo my thoughts, that’s why I suggested moving him back. He’s a good player and doing very well but Forss is a better player.

You wouldn’t start him at right back or right wing back ahead of Ayling though would you?

It would depend on the opposition, I think he could be a great full back though his defensive game has improved tenfold.

Have to admit he’s been brilliant at times this season though. I do think Forss is very good too mind. With the situation upfront with Coburn and Lath out I’d play him there maybe against Chelsea but unsure if that’s what Carrick will do.

As you say, it’s good to have some options. You would fancy us to finish the season strongly now. 🤞

That could be Saturday’s line up. For Chelsea I think it is more likely to be this (assuming Late Lath not fit)
