What now in remaining games.

I just wonder what they’re producing if they’re not producing players capable of being picked during huge injury crises
An injury crisis usually hits one or two positions, and each year group of the youths will k ly have one or two players that could possibly survive a first team start. Sometimes those things align and you get a Hackney, sometimes they don’t and you get Howson in defence: it doesn’t mean the youth production line has failed, just the right opportunity hasn’t aligned

Give some of the young ones who have a chance of breaking through some decent game time. Don't need to necessarily start them but give them 30-35 mins rather than 5 mins. They need a chance to settle into a game to actually get a prober look at them.

I would say pick the 3 that are the closest to breaking through and give them all some time.

I might be in a minority of one but I don't understand the clamour to include young players, home grown or otherwise, in the side.

Coaching team see these players in training every day and I'm sure will play them when they feel they're of a level to perform. Why would they risk their professional integrity (and potentially, career) picking players they do not believe are good enough, over those they do?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the status of academy only assumes the level of facilities and coaching? Not the players progressing through it?
