I studied International Trade and that is indeed my line of work, still.
Is it trading fish?I studied International Trade and that is indeed my line of work, still.
Same kind of story. I got into software development kind of accidentally, and after doing it for 5 years I decided to get my degree. Teesside Uni wouldn't let me do a computer science degree because I didn't have the necessary qualifications (no college, no previous uni) so I had to do a "Computing" degree.Computer science. I still work in computers, solution architect, but the degree just gets you in the door.
I have shown my degree once in 30 years. It stayed in the envelope for the first 10 years until my wife found it and asked what it was.Same kind of story. I can kind of fudge it on my CV to apply for jobs that require a degree so that it looks like a Computer Science degree, but after all this time I don't think it makes any difference really
Very similar. Computer Science with Mathematics. Graduated in 1980.Computer science. I still work in computers, solution architect, but the degree just gets you in the door.
Agree - I think I got lucky in that I was getting involved in software development before it became as mainstream, so was able to just get involved, get a job, and progress from thereVery similar. Computer Science with Mathematics. Graduated in 1980.
I think it was early in the history of the subject. So I think just about everyone got jobs in the industry if they wanted one.
