Whatever happens on Monday evening ……….

Some of our “fans” are absolute idiots - you only need to go to an away game with a big following to witness that. Some of them have even turned up on here - nuff said. I class these disgusting pedo chants as a would some moron making money noises at a black player. I won’t tolerate it near me, and if i hear it i will be doing something about it - it’s not banter, it’s not just part of the game, and it’s not something we should all just accept. Sorry if that’s upsetting for some of our “fans”

I can’t talk for everyone here but if the mackems give us some grief they are going to expect it back, now 2 wrongs don’t make a right but I think you’ll struggle to report a few thousand fans chanting hence why I think a few are saying just ignore it👍

There's CCTV presumably the Sunderland fans will all be season ticket holders so I think identification is very possible. I think the biggest issue is getting the police to take the chants seriously so the more people who report it the more likely it is for them to take action. Our club could help by telling them to stop on the PA if they start. Finally another significant factor to consider is the match is on TV and we all know how sensitive sky are to obscenities being heard.

I think the fact that many people seem to be accepting of this kind of thing shows how far we are away from something actually being done about it - judging by some of the attitudes on here we seem to be at the point we were with racism about thirty years ago. I’ll be writing to the club if there isn’t some kind of reaction from the stewards and/or police to the inevitable chants from the away section on Monday.

Go to an away game with a big following and you’ll see our fans are idiots.. ‘nuff said’ with not one ounce of self awareness!

Pedo chants are not in the same league as monkey noises at black players.. whole different kettle of fish. I doubt very much that you have done anything positive in regards to out fans at the football and I’m sure you will get little more than a smile and a nod if you happen to complain about Sunderland fans singing/chanting.

What ‘kind of thing’? Pedo chants that haven’t happened? or Racism? what you seem to be saying is that you class pedo chants from Sunderland fans in the same league as racism (which it isn’t) and if any of OUR fans respond.. you are going to grass on them and try to get them banned from the stadium?!?

I really hope you don’t embarrass yourself by writing a letter (that you clearly can’t wait to send) over chants and songs that haven’t happened yet. Not sure what sort of reaction that you want from the stewards and police.. but I can’t see it ending well, even if they did take any notice of you! More aggressive stewards? Heavier policing? More fans being ejected and banned? No thank you. UTB!

Well firstly let me correct you on what i actually said - I said SOME of our away fans are idiots, not all of them, but some are, and there’s been numerous threads over the years about the negative experiences people have had with some of our own fans at away games. Secondly I’m very surprised that you’re trying to make light of these chants, or suggest we should react to them by doing the very same. It IS serious and it is an offence to slander someone just as it would be to racially abuse someone - maybe should go and read some of the laws in this country perhaps ? I think you’ll find a police officer won’t stand there and smile if you call him or someone else a pedophile. I expected more of you - very disappointing

Why not just enjoy the game rather than concoct ways to slag off boro fans? I honestly don’t think your threat to have boro fans ejected/ banned for responding to chants will be effective in any way shape or form. Not sure what you expected of me to be honest? To give you praise and adoration for saying you want boro fans ejected and banned for responding to songs/chants? Never gonna happen mate.

What do you mean by responding ? If you’re condoning Boro fans to retaliate by making up their own ridiculous chants about pedophiles then yes they should be ejected from the stadium and banned, and i think Steve Gibson would say exactly the same.

I’m not condoning anything.. least of all imaginary chants in response to songs that haven’t been sung.
 
I'm not too @rsed about what the mackems sing. If they sing paedo chants, thats their problem. They're not particularly a loud bunch anyway. I've been to enough sunderland games to know they're a bunch of chunts who will sing these chants. It just makes beating them all the sweeter.

Well said? The absolute state of it!!

I feel that I must reiterate, that chants from one group of fans to another about nonces however sick/vile/offensive folks may find them are in no way shape or form comparable to racists chants or monkey gestures. Please give ones head a wobble on that front.
