When did Subway (sandwiches) get so expensive?

Salads are decent value. Sometimes go for them if I'm low carbing. Always go double "meat" and its around a fiver.

I love a Subway!

They're not cheap. They're probably not as healthy as they like to portray.

I find them tasty as hell. Soz!

McDonald's and the others are similar now as well. Big Mac meal is now £6, KFC box meal is £8 etc.

Hard to get a cheap lunchtime meal now without the crappy pre-packed supermarket sandwich meal deal.
Just be careful what you get. A Wrap of the day meal, with a double cheeseburger on the side is still marginally cheaper than a Big Mac meal and has more grub in it.

Or take a George Foreman grill with you. Four slices of bread, smearing of butter, half a packet of bacon costs about £1.50👍

Or alternatively, ricebox meal with drink from KFC is more balanced and costs not much over a fiver.

Subway really went down the tubes when they started to use "fake tuna". Apparently the so called tuna is mixture of chicken, pork and other leftovers with some flavourings to enhance the taste. Here in the US you can still get a footlong sub for $5.99 + tax-- I see it's the same price in the UK but it's in pounds of course, not much difference in price tbf [basically a quid]. I never get the meal deal rip off scam.

Big Mac and Fries for £1.99 if you spare a minute to fill in the Food for Thoughts thing advertised on the receipt.

Subway is ok, not bad, not amazing, it fills a purpose.

The tuna is obviously tuna, that story goes around but I refuse to believe that it's not just cross contamination in testing or the fact that it's fast food so going to be processed. You'd know from the taste, texture etc.

It's fast food not Gordon Ramsey. It's only expensive if you're getting footlong meals and adding stuff. A 6 inch sandwhich just over £3 is better imo than a supermarket sandwhich at the same price or more.

I love a subway. Foot long steak cheese is my go to sub.

Yeah, they are expensive but so is a McDonalds. Never bothered with a Subway meal deal though.
