Where do we go from here?

Team Warnock
Team Scott

This always looked problematic.
I had hoped we'd 'make do' and come out the other side alright.
But watching this in the flesh week in week out is hard work.

Scott = Payero, Sporar and Siliki
Warnock = Bamba, Crooks

How long does this 'experiment' continue?
Pretty obvious the aim is to get to 50 points and safety without upsetting the fan base too much.

With the team numbers pretty much run down to the minimum it will be interesting to see if we hit target.

If Scott coming in is part of this big master plan to change our transfer structure and identify targets etc, then why is Warnock still here? Why aren’t we taking this free hit of a season to plan for the future with a new manager who fits the ethos? Why are we allowing him to sign the likes of Peltier, Bamba etc?

There is no plan. This club has just been winging it for years on end and we’re fading into obscurity for it.

The buck stops with Gibson.

Agree with this one hundred per cent. I was there tonight and I'm too old and too cranky for any more of 'that'. If I didn't love my dog so much I'd kick him!

It seems that way doesn't it.

I don't think it makes sense to move NW on, not unless the club already know who is taking over in the summer, and he's available of course.

Given that's unlikely it doesn't make sense to change now; as bad as the last two results have been we were 6th prior to that and looking up not down the table.

All this assumes that it's NW final season, which makes sacking him a very difficult proposition.

He's like the old bloke at work who can't do the job properly anymore, he won't retire and the company haven't got the heart to lay him off.

Warnock was still here, I suspect, because Gibson can be sentimental. He will have been well aware of the managerial records due to be broken by NW.

I reckon he now wants him to win a game before letting him go

We enter cruise control for the remainder of the season as relegation seems unlikely (!) and we have no chance of promotion.

Then, when we lie in our beds at night we dream of what might happen next year once this ‘Warnock Chapter’ in the book of Boro is over.

We did that during the Strachan, Agnew, Monk, Pulis and Woodgate chapters. We never learn.

I never expected anything other than mid-table mediocrity this season. I'm not sure we're even getting that.

I think we are sitting where I would expect. Midtable- no risk of relegation, sitting on the edge of the play offs. 2 wins in a row and we will be elated again. 2 losses and we will be burning effigies.

I always count myself lucky I dont have to watch some of the poorer football. I'm not sure what the difference is between Warnock and Pulis in general. Similar styles, similar outcomes. Warnock however has found himself on a pedestal at times that Pulis would never get near.

Squad appears better than last year, had a lot of injuries which has hampered us- i'm not sure anyone had that back 3 as their go to prior to the season starting.

Be interesting to see if warnock keeps daniels in or brings lumley back for wba.

Surely I can't be the only one who saw those wins for what they were? First game we were dreadful, very lucky to come away with three points. The next two we played two very poor sides. I suspected as soon as we came up against a side with bite about them we'd lose again so I tried to not get carried away. An here we are...
