Who is the most famous person you have bumped into?

Bumped into Joanna Lumley.. our on loan rush keepers grandmother, in london…
she was pleasant but a friend I was with spoiled it by asking her for a kiss… she appreciated my apology for his behaviour though…

Actually physically did bump into Norman Lamont in Harrogate (both if us not looking where we were going).

Gene October on Wardour St in London (he had a walking cane!) Stopped for a chat with us.

Faith Brown getting in her limo outside Garfunkels in London ("Now then Faith! shouted my mate ...she didn't reply 🤣).

Ken Morley in the In Shops in Dundas Arcade - looking totally fed up. He'd been out of Corra for a while.
"long day Ken?" "Yeah"

Anthea Turner and Grant Bovey on HMS Illustrious. They'd won a day on board at a charity do. He kept himself to himself, she was very chatty and personable...and really bonny close up.

Richard Hammond on HMS Illustrious. Came into the office to use the satellite phone. Scruffy, glum little (really little) sod with a perma-frown. Doing some engineering programme for Sky. He was very unlike what you see on the telly.

Sam Fox at Hackney speedway. Tiny.

Ruth Madoc at Peterborough speedway . Lovely.

Lionel Blair at Gatwick. Only little, and looked terrified that someone might stop and say hello.

Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson from Big Country at the services on the M1 after the Notts County cup match. Can't remember if it was Woodall or Trowell. Both looking rough but happy to take photos and autographs with surprised Boro fans.

Steve Claridge in Fareham shopping mall. Pushing a pram with a tribe of kids with him. Unshaven in grey joggers and sweatshirt. Scruffy get.

Vince Hilaire in the Albany in Pompey. Top bloke.

Liz Barker off Blue Peter on HMS Illustrious. Not the best complexion, nice lass though.

Lady Sarah Chatto again on HMS Illustrious. Princess Margarets daughter. She came on as ships sponsor for the rededication. Absolutely lovely.

Prince Andrew at HMS Mercury. Tubby.

Prince Harry. Pompey dockyard. Presented me with a medal. Nice lad, very friendly. Never mind eh?

Jim Kerr and Patsy Kensit backstage at the Gateshead stadium. Patsy not the best complexion close up. Rough as gashouse cinders and very plooky.

Keith Harris in Asda in Fareham. Very tanned. Orville was not present.

Robin and Graham Grumbleweed on a flight from Gibraltar to Gatwick. Brilliant lads who kept our two kids entertained all the way home. Pre-Savile, mind. So Robin was doing his Savile impression.

Just remembered I was sat at the next table to Toby Jones at a Brandee Younger show at Ronnie Scotts not too long ago

I also nearly bumped into Ron Jeremy in a hotel in Boston, the reason I know it was him is because he was wearing a t-shirt with his name and face on it.

Saw Matt Smith getting cash out of an ATM in that there London (just after he'd finished as Doctor Who).

Same afternoon I held the door for Emun Elliot (actor) and his lady-friend as I was leaving a bookshop.

Also, myself and a few mates were working at Earl's Court Arena years ago and slightly gatecrashed Paul McCartney doing a sound check. He shouted "Alright lads!" and then continued with his wanging.

Janick Gers probably the most famous person, whilst in Yarm

Plenty of footballers, Gary Pallister, Bernie, Kei Kamara

I seem to see Glenn McCrory every time I go to Newcastle Airport.

Not many for me:
Tony Iommi at the US embassy in London.
Roy Keane in a urinal at Heathrow.
Steve McClaren on a bus at Schipol airport.
Ronnie O'Sullivan at Newcastle airport.

Singer Pink in Florida, where she was doing the MTV video awards ceremony. She was very lovely, and tiny.

You win, Lemmy. :D

I've met Jim Kerr as well, but it wasn't a bumping into. I went to an album signing in October in Manchester and met him and Charlie Burchill (SM guitarist). They were lovely but I think I came across as a right fan girl and couldn't think what to say. Still great to meet them.

Stood and chatted to Dave Beasant near the 1st fairway at Wentworth watching the BMW PGA Championship - not football related, just the quality of Jon Rahm's approach shot to the green.

I've also cooked for Rhod Gilbert and he came into the kitchen to thank the staff for the food.

Walked past Princess Anne on Queen Street in Redcar.

Bar that, it's largely just local Boro players who I'm sure plenty on here have bumped in to.

Is that just a thing that famous people do, as I've heard of a few famous people that have done it ?

I've never once, after a great meal, ever thought "I must pop into the kitchen and thank the staff". Surely just leaving a decent tip is the right thing to do ?

James May in a motorway services. He was busting for a dump and I didn't see him heading towards the toilet. As I came round the corner, I almost sent him flying. I, surprised said ' you're James May'. 'Yes I am and I'm busting for a crap'. he replied as he walked on.

Starstruck I was not. Got bloody long hair though.

Toby Jones walking through Bruntsfield in Edinburgh
Ken Stott having a pint in the Diggers Edinburgh
Peter Finch on a train going through Italy
The Men They Couldn't Hang getting ***ed in the Sun Stockton

Sold Alice Cooper a pair of trainers (despite not recognising him without the make up and hair tied up under a hat).
