I think, and I may be wrong so don't shoot me, it's because it has the biggest audience outside of Europe, they love it. So they were invited to compete as a 1 off for the 50th anniversary (again may have wrong date) and they just never left lol

I’m going Finland to win this year. I think they will smash the telly vote while Sweden will win the jury vote.
