Why are there no PL games this weekend?

Absolutely baffling that with all the postponements and loads of games to catch up on they didn't just put them in this week.

We don't need a winter break, we never have had a winter break, most PL teams have 10+ players out on loan there is absolutely no excuse for this.
Why on earth are Newcastle in Saudi Arabia in the midst of a relegation battle 😅

Yep, but they refused to cancel the winter break to fit them in.
Fixture pile up is probably the main reason I think Burnley are going down now.
You'd think after all that complaining they'd want to play the games and avoid fixture congestion when the European games and international breaks come back in to play

Surely Newcastle going to Saudi proves the point that no break was necessary and the size of premiership squads and less games than any other division makes the decision bizarre.

The winter break was introduced in the 19/20 season. There wasn't one last season because of covid.

I remember Boro going to the Caribbean for a winter break during our top flight season under Bruce - our form in the later parts of that season saw us relegated. Lets hope Newcastle's trip has a similar effect.

There was no official break, we were just out of all the cups.

We played a couple of games in Bermuda. One v the Bermudan national side and one v Coventry City. Wonder if any Boro fans got to the games?

Some kind of record wasn't it for a top flight club to be knocked out of both cups at the first time of asking by 4th Division sides (Tranmere - - LC & Grimsby - FA)?
