Why do we support boro dad.?

You don't choose a club. You are given a club.
A Man United fan once told me about how Bryan Robson visited him in hospital when he was a player for them and that was it.
Another friend follows Notts forest because of his grandad.
I was given the boro by my family.
So for me supporting boro is like supporting my family.
All good reasons and it's part of why I enjoy the game.

With me it was my young son who chose the Boro years ago and I was drawn in by attending the Riverside. What appealed to my young son was Juninho and Robbo.

Young son is now an honours graduate working as an actuary but still attends all home games. Strange are the ways of fandom.

I was born in Paisley and no one in my family was interested in football but my Grandad did talk about big nights watching St Mirren at Love Street, so when I was old enough to go on my own about 10 years old I got the bug watching live football.

Fast forward two years and my family moved to an employment blackspot for work!!!! 😂😂

Landed in Redcar in May 1976 and went to my first Boro match that August with new school mates, and for the second time I was hooked. Train to Boro, marching up Linthorpe Road to Ayresome Park and back again after the match, loads of chew with away fans ( only watching from afar but all very exciting for a 12 year old ). After that Boro became my team, made me feel I belonged after the move from Scotland, made me a Teessider, I still see some of those school mates at matches.

Dipped out going to matches for a couple of years in the early eighties ( Lambrettas ) but felt guilty when the club went bust and have never stopped going since. Don't use it you will lose it.

Anyway Boro, St Mirren and Scotland are my teams so no one can accuse me of being a glory supporter :ROFLMAO:. My pet hate is born in the wool Teessider's supporting teams they have no connection to.
